Onr:e completed, this project will (1) reduce severity of floods, <br />(2) improve the river as a distribution system, and (3) lower the water table and re- <br />duce or ultimately eliminate water consumption by phreatophytes along the river _ We <br />mention this as relevant information and suggest that the Water Pollution Control Com- <br />mission might want to meet formally with representatives of the Corps to obtain up to <br />date information on (I) plans, (2) timetable, and (3) relationship to pollution factors. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />"'.' <br /> <br /> <br />.
