<br />C'J <br />!.O <br />....." <br />'-1 the Irrigation and Reclamation Subcommittee of the House Committee on <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Interior and Insular Affairs in craig, Colorado, on April 18, 1963. <br /> <br />It is anticipated that further hearings will be held in Washington in <br /> <br />the very near future. <br /> <br />The feasibility grade investigation of this project has <br /> <br />been completed by the Department of the Interior and a copy of the <br /> <br />report transmi tted to the Honorable John W. 14cCormack, Speaker of the <br /> <br />House of Representatives, by Kenneth Holum, Assistant Secretary of the <br /> <br />Interior, under date of June 25, 1962. The report was referred to <br /> <br />the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs in order to be printed <br /> <br />with illustrations on June 27, 1962. <br /> <br />The estimated annual economic benefits for the Savery-Pot <br /> <br />Hook Project would total $873,150 over the 100-year period of analy- <br /> <br />sis consisting of $389,350 in direct benefits, $498,200 in indirect <br /> <br />and public benefits, and a loss of $14,400 from inundation of lands <br /> <br />in the reservoir basin. These benefits were broken down as follows: <br /> <br />Irrigation <br />Fish and vlildlife <br />Recreation <br /> <br />$ 861,500 <br />4,450 <br />7,200 <br /> <br />Total <br /> <br />$ 873,150 <br /> <br />These are all figures contained in the project report submitted by <br /> <br />the Department of the Interior. <br /> <br />The project is not revenue producing. <br /> <br />The average annual benefits of the project compare with <br /> <br />the average annual equivalent cost in a ratio of 1.47 to 1. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
