.

h. At least annually, publicize and notify all interested parties
that some flooding will continue to occur due to flows greater than
design magnitude.
i. Adopt such flood plain regulations necessary to insure compati-
bility between future development and the degree of flood protection
afforded in the project area.
j. Publicize the flood plain information contained in Appendix 4
of this report and make it readily available to all interested parties.

VIEWS OF NON-FEDERAL INTERESTS

Local interests have actively involved themselves in the process of

obtaining adequate flood control for their community. A public meeting

was held at Holly High School Cafetorium on 21 October 1971 during which

active interest in the project was shown by all attendees. The local

residents have continued to voice strong support for a flood control

project.

REVIEW BY OTHER FEDERAL AGENCIES
(This section will be completed after field level review.)

SUMMARY

The present conditions at Holly present a serious flood problem

to the town and surrounding areas. Historical flood records are evi-

dence of the threat to life and property. The devastating flood of

June 1965 accentuates the problem and need for flood protection.

.

37
