.

.

.

OOJHO

2.10 TRAINING

2.10.1' Hardware

The hardware training will be conducted by the Sierra/Misco field engineer
during the two week system start up. It is our experience that the most
effective training is the hands on experience gained during system
installation. The training will include installation considerations,
routine maintenance requirements, system troubleshooting and equipment
troubleshooting.

System troubleshooting looks at the system as a whole in isolating a
problem to a particular piece of equipment. Equipment troubleshooting then
looks at a particular piece of equipment in terms of theory of operation
and test points to allow a technician to isolate a problem to the board
level.

The regional building department field personnel who will be responsible
for the installation and maintenance of the system will be requested to
review the system manuals and videotape supplied by Sierra/Misco prior to
the arrival of the Sierra Misco field engineer. This preparation will
allow them to gain the most value possible from the hands on work during
the two week training period.

2.10.2 Software

Training for the Enhanced ALERT software will cover the basic elements of
setup, operation, and care of base station operations. Experienced
personnel from Sierra/Misco's subsidiary, International Hydrological
Services, will conduct the training_

IHS training personnel have extensive operational experience in automated
data acquisition and forecast systems. Their collective operational
experience allows the trainers to bring a very practical rather than a
theoretical perspective to the training sessions. Knowledge gained from
training personnel around the world allows Sierra/Misco and IHS to provide
direct straight,.to. ,the. .point training enabling your to maximize your
system's value.
