Following is a list of stations visited with com.ments and recommenda_

tions concerning the same:

STATE LINE STATION - South of Coolidge, Kansas

Tllis station was constructed by the U. S. G. S. In 1951 and is operated

by them. It is well located and competently operated, Gage height is broad-

cast each hour on a frequency of 265 ~ K. C. by means of a IIhom.e..tai1ored"

radio transmitter operating on a 6 volt battery. To the reading obtained

from this atation must be added the diversion of the Frontier Ditch to arrive

st total State Line river flow. TheBe readings are also transmitted by radio

each hour on the same frequency.

These combined Citations have been charting river now since 19Ca.

Some notes on the river station follow; 10,000 c. t. s. can be measured

at the station before overflow of the north primary river bank occurs; the

cableway clear span is 409,6 feet and required 511 feet of 7/8 inch Tramway

Type wire rope; the 'A' trames are 25 feet high and were built with 6 inch

'HI beams welded; cost of the complete cableway was $2,800. The recorder

hauoe is built of concrete blocks on a concrete foundation and has a 60 inch
