OtlJ3:i1J

.

.

.

PART IT. STREAMFLOW GAGE RECORDS

West Mancos River near Mancos

The gage was located 1.5 miles upstream from the confluence with East

Mancos River, with a 42 square mile drainage area. The period of record was

May 1938 through September 1953. Records were usually not maintained during

December through March, so estimates for the missing months have been pub-

lished by the USGS on the basis of records for the La Plata River at Hesperus.

The gage records are considered to be "fair" by the USGS, except for the winter

months, which are considered to be "poor." "Fair" indicates that the elTor

in the daily records is believed to be less than 15 percent. "Poor" indicates

that the elTor is probably greater than 15 percent. The recorded flow at the

gage is affected by diversions for irrigation and municipal purposes.

Middle Mancos River near Mancos

The gage was located 0.2 mile upstream from its confluence with the

East Mancos River, with a 12 square mile drainage area. The period of record

was 1937 through September 1951. Records were usually estimated for December

through March as described above. The gage records are considered to be fair

by the USGS, except for the winter months, which are considered to be poor.

The recorded flow is affected by diversions for irrigation.

East Mancos River near Mancos

The gage was located 0.2 mile upstream from its confluence with the

Middle Mancos River, with a 12 square mile drainage area.
