<br />. . 3''''4 <br />' t"'\ .... <br />nflUe! <br />u- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PART IlL IRRIGATED AREAS <br /> <br />Irrigated areas in the Mancos River basin were identified through inspection <br /> <br /> <br />of aerial photographs obtained from the U.S. Department of Agriculture- <br /> <br /> <br />Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. The photographs were <br /> <br /> <br />taken in 1973 and enlarged to a scale of roughly I inch to 600 feet. Irrigated <br /> <br /> <br />areas were verified through field inspection in August 1985. Reference was <br /> <br /> <br />made to maps that were prepared by the Mancos River Water Commission- <br /> <br /> <br />er, Glenn Humiston, which show the route of the inigation ditches and identify <br /> <br /> <br />the inigated areas served by each ditch. A summary of the inigated areas <br /> <br /> <br />served by each ditch is presented in the table below. The summary does not <br /> <br /> <br />include inigated lands in the Towaoc area that are served by irrigation canals <br /> <br /> <br />from the Dolores River. The acreage listed below includes timbered areas that <br /> <br /> <br />receive inigation water on a periodic basis for the improvement of range pasture <br /> <br /> grass. <br />.
