Local Cooperation Requirements <br /> <br />Local sponsor name: The Tri-County Water Conservancy District organized <br /> <br />in September 1957, as a political subdivision of the State of Colorado <br /> <br />with extensive authorities will ge the general constracting and <br /> <br />administrating agency fo~ the project. A repayment contract between <br /> <br />the Conservancy District and the United States for repayment of <br /> <br />project reimbursable costs was signed on January 14, 1977. <br /> <br />, <br />The cities of Delta and Montrose signed letters of intent on <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />January II, 1977, to purchase project waters. The city of Delta <br /> <br />agreed to sign a repayment contract with Tri-County Water Conservancy <br /> <br />District on March 9, 1977. Montrose is expected to follow. <br /> <br />The Uncompahgre Valley Water Users Association passed a reso- <br /> <br />lution to purchase project water and a contract is forthcoming. They <br /> <br />have also agreed to a water exchange to make the best quality of <br /> <br />water available for municipal users. <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation provided <br /> <br />a letter of intent to operate the recreation facilities at Ridgway <br /> <br />Reservoir. <br /> <br />The Colorado River Water Conservation District has issued reso- <br /> <br />lutions for support of the project. The Colorado Water Conservation <br /> <br />Board and the Governor of Colorado have also expressed support for <br /> <br />the project and provided planning assistance. <br /> <br />:, " <br />'C' t~f" ~ <br />
