An appropriate sign marks this important site. <br /> <br />7. Cooperative Studies and Activities: <br />(a) Article VIII G (I) of Arkansas River Compact requires the <br />Administration to cooperate with the Chief Official of each of the <br />states of Colorado and Kansas charged with the administration of <br />water rights in their respective States, and with the Federal <br />agencies in systematically determining and correlating the facts <br />pertaining to the flow and diversion of the water of the Arkansas <br />River and to the operation and siltation of John Martin Reservoir <br />and other related structures. Article VIII G (2) requests the <br />Director of the United States Geological Survey. the <br />Commissioner of the United States Bureau of Reclamation, and <br />the Chief of Engineers. United States Army. to cooperate and <br />collaborate with the Administration and with appropriate State <br />officials in such determinations and correlations of streamflow <br />and related data. Under the By-Laws of the Administration. these <br />cooperative studies and activities are assigned to the Engineering <br />Committee of the Administration. <br />(bl During the year covered by this report the Administration has <br />received excellent cooperation from all agencies referred to in the <br />foregoing provisions of the Compact.
