During 1982, representatives of Mexico's CDmision Federal de
Electricidad were invited to attend meetings of the Planning CDordination
Committee and Operations Committee.

Through participation in the many activities of WSCC, the Member
Systems are accomplishing the vital coordination necessary to maintain the
reliability and adequacy Df the present and future power systems in the
WSCC region.

the news media. The committee is also responsible for advising the news
media of nDteworthy develDpments regarding regional Dperating practices
and WSCC actions in which there is public interest.

During 1982, the committee updated its On-Call Roster to
facilitate around-the-clock dissemination of WSCC information. Pertinent
information regarding the region's bulk power system disturbances was
routinely compiled and distributed to the Member Systems for release to
the news media. The CDuncil's list of media representatives and opinion
leaders was also updated for disseminating WSCC and NERC'informatiDn. The
committee issued its 1982 WSCC "Information BrDchure" and a small pamphlet
describing the purpose and activities Df WSCC.

Other forms of WSCC coordination include participation in North
American Electric Reliability Council activities and liaisDn with the U.S.
Department of Energy and the Western Conference of Public Service
Commissions. WSCC is continuing its established procedure of inviting
representatives of the State Public Utility CommissiDns, U.S. Department
of Energy and the California Energy CDmmission to WSCC's Standing
Committee meetings and the Council's Annual meeting. In additiDn,
representatives of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest
Service are also invited to the Council's Annual meeting.

Liaison with MAPP continued by way of a MAPP report at each WSCC
Planning Coordination and OperatiDns Committee meeting. In additiDn, a
WSCC representative attended a 1982 meeting of MAPP's Environmental
Committee tD enhance liaison between the two CDuncils.
