<br />During 1982, representatives of Mexico's CDmision Federal de <br />Electricidad were invited to attend meetings of the Planning CDordination <br />Committee and Operations Committee. <br /> <br />Through participation in the many activities of WSCC, the Member <br />Systems are accomplishing the vital coordination necessary to maintain the <br />reliability and adequacy Df the present and future power systems in the <br />WSCC region. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />facts tD Member Systems, and releasing timely and unifDrm information to <br />the news media. The committee is also responsible for advising the news <br />media of nDteworthy develDpments regarding regional Dperating practices <br />and WSCC actions in which there is public interest. <br /> <br />During 1982, the committee updated its On-Call Roster to <br />facilitate around-the-clock dissemination of WSCC information. Pertinent <br />information regarding the region's bulk power system disturbances was <br />routinely compiled and distributed to the Member Systems for release to <br />the news media. The CDuncil's list of media representatives and opinion <br />leaders was also updated for disseminating WSCC and NERC'informatiDn. The <br />committee issued its 1982 WSCC "Information BrDchure" and a small pamphlet <br />describing the purpose and activities Df WSCC. <br /> <br />Other forms of WSCC coordination include participation in North <br />American Electric Reliability Council activities and liaisDn with the U.S. <br />Department of Energy and the Western Conference of Public Service <br />Commissions. WSCC is continuing its established procedure of inviting <br />representatives of the State Public Utility CommissiDns, U.S. Department <br />of Energy and the California Energy CDmmission to WSCC's Standing <br />Committee meetings and the Council's Annual meeting. In additiDn, <br />representatives of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest <br />Service are also invited to the Council's Annual meeting. <br /> <br />Liaison with MAPP continued by way of a MAPP report at each WSCC <br />Planning Coordination and OperatiDns Committee meeting. In additiDn, a <br />WSCC representative attended a 1982 meeting of MAPP's Environmental <br />Committee tD enhance liaison between the two CDuncils. <br />
