<br />o <br /> <br />'..-' <br /> <br />L? <br />....-I <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />("";-1 <br /> <br />Annual Irrigation Site Water Budgets <br /> <br />At the end of the irrigation season, water budgets for each irrigation event, <br /> <br />for each site, will be summarized. <br /> <br />The accumulation of irrigation events will <br /> <br />become the annual water budget for each evaluation site. <br /> <br />The annual water budgets for each site will be divided according to sites with <br /> <br />irrigation improvements and without improvements. These would be further <br /> <br />divided according to site selection criteria. The improved sites would then be <br /> <br />divided into three deep percolation criteria which could be translated into <br /> <br />water management stages. These stages are as follows: <br /> <br />Management Stage 1 - Those sites where deep percolation is equal to or <br /> <br />exceeds the base deep percolation. In this group there has been no deep <br /> <br />percolation reduction. <br /> <br />Management Stage 2 - Those sites where deep percolation is less than the <br /> <br />base deep percolation. <br /> <br />Management Stage 3 - Those sites that have reduced deep percolation to a <br /> <br />quantity that is acceptable for that site. An acceptable level of <br /> <br />deep percolation will be established for each site as part of the <br /> <br />,evaluation process. This will be a high management level obtainable by the <br /> <br />irrigators, relative to design efficiency possible at the site. <br /> <br />Evaluation sites without irrigation improvements will b,~ used to establish <br /> <br />baseline deep percolation values by soil, crop. and ,nethod of irrigation. These <br /> <br />evaluations might be separated into similar catagories as 3iven for irrigation <br /> <br />improved sites for the purpose of extrapolating the data. <br /> <br />As procedures are <br /> <br />27 <br />
