<br />Fronuhe Gha.. <br /> <br />- , <br /> <br />, . <br />......-'-- <br /> <br /> <br />To our community and member agencies: <br /> <br />Thank you for helping the Soulhern Nevada Water Authority (SN\VA) <br />achieve another banner year in the treatment, deliver}' and management of <br />our regional waler supply. \Vithout your inpul. commitment and support <br />we could nol have reached the milestones experienced last year or achieved <br />the tremendous progress in the nine years since the Water Authority was <br />establi~hed. <br /> <br />Over the past few years, the role of the SN\VA has grown to encompass many different aspects of <br />regional water management. The associated is,sues arE' often numerous and complex. which can make it <br />difficult to slay abreast of what is happening. The SN\X.~ Board of Direclors asked staff to produce an <br />annual report similar to the corporate reports issued by companies in the private sector. <br /> <br />This is the fin;t such SI\WA annual report and coven; the }'ear 2000. Inside. you ,viI] find discussions <br />of our major programs and related activities that occurred during the year. You will also find a <br />discussion of our finances. including revenue sources and expenditures. The report is cas)' to read. <br />emphasizing key informarion and highlights of Sl'\,\'VA operations. It prm'ides a simple, yet complete <br />o....f'rview of what we did during the year. <br /> <br />A.. chair of the SN'\VA Board of Directors, I would like 10 thank my fellow board members. SI\~VA <br />staff and the staffs of our member agencies for all their hard ,,'ork this past year. By looking to the future <br />and favoring innovation O\'l'f the status quo. the SN\\t}\ has established itst'lf as a leading agency in the <br />water management fjeld. The \Vater Authonty is nationally and internationall}. recognized for its <br />proactive and \'isionary rlo!lcy work. outt'otandlllg research and analysis, and highly skilled design. <br />engineering and construction. <br /> <br />\Ve remgnize that water is more than a luxury. it is an everyday necessity. Therf'fore. the way it is <br />managed. deliwred and treated is important to our enlire community.
