The water supply for this potential development would come from existing water rights and by purchasing irrigation water rights and converting them to municipal and industrial use. To date, local interests have been unable to obtain financing to develop the consultant's plan through either the State or private sector. PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT Local resi dents and organi zati ons strongly supported the Coal Creek investigations. The Coal Creek Basin Water Users Association, Inc., and the Colorado Water Conservation Board both endorsed the studies. This endorsement represented the local communities efforts to minimize future water supply problems. Public meetings were held, and area concerns and suggestions were solicited from local residents. Reclamation personnel met on a regular basis with the members of the Coal Creek Basin Water Users Association, Inc., to report on the progress of the studies.
