<br />Ulili287 <br /> <br />Roberts Tunnel Collection System - East Gore Unit <br /> <br />The East Gore Unit of the Roberts Tunnel Collection System will divert <br />water from twenty-two (22) named tributaries of the Blue River and carry it <br />by a gravity system on the west side of the Blue River valley to Dillon <br />Reservoir. <br /> <br />The water rights for this unit are in the process of being adjudi- <br />cated; the Referee has rejected Denver's claim and the matter is now <br />pending before the Water Judge on Denver's protest to the Referee's ruling. <br />. <br /> <br />With elimination of corrflicting calls, the increase in firm annual <br />yield to the Denver system from the operation of this unit is estimated to <br />be at least 32,000 acre feet per year and would increase to 59,000 acre <br />feet per year with the provision of strategically located Eastern Slope <br />storage capaCity. <br /> <br />The C05t of construction is estimated to be $124,000,000.00 in 1980 <br />dollars and the development period, including time for site specific <br />environmental analyses, permitting and construction, depending upon <br />whether all elements of the unit are constructed Simultaneously or in <br />sequence, is estimated to range from 15 to 20 years. <br /> <br />Roberts Tunnel Collection System - Eagle-Piney Unit <br /> <br />The Eagle-Piney Unit of the Roberts Tunnel Collection System wi 11 <br />divert water from the Eagle River and a number of its tributaries, as well <br />as from the Piney and a number of its tributaries and carry the water thus <br />diverted by a gravity system under Vail Pass for del ivery into Di llon <br />Reservoir. <br /> <br />The water rights on the Eagle River and tributaries have been adjudi- <br />cated. The water rights for the portion of the system deriving its supply <br />from the Piney River and its tributaries are in the process of being <br />adjudicated; the Referee has rejected the Board's claim and the matter is <br />now pending before the Water Judge on Denver's protest to the Referee's <br />ruling. <br /> <br />With elimination of conflicting calls, the increase in firm annual <br />yield to the Denver system from the operation of the unit is estimated to <br />be at least 37,000 acre feet per year and would increase to 64,000 acre <br />feet per year with the provision of strategically located Eastern Slope <br />storage capacity. <br /> <br />The cost of construction is estimated to be $437,000,000.00 in 19BO <br />dollars and the development period, including time for site specific <br /> <br />-5- <br />
