<br />1.61 The indication of preferred alternatives is not a permitting <br /> <br /> <br />decision by the USFS; It is an indication of which projects the agency <br /> <br /> <br />thinks would best fulfill the USFS statutory missions and <br /> <br /> <br />responsibilities of giving consideration to the social, economic, <br /> <br /> <br />environmental, and technical factors that are disclosed in this Final <br /> <br /> <br />ErS. The decisions on whether or not to approve the applied-for <br /> <br /> <br />permits will be made after the public hearings that are being held <br /> <br /> <br />following publication of this Final EIS. These decisions will be <br /> <br /> <br />documented In separate Records of Decision issued by the Omaha <br /> <br /> <br />District Engineer and the Rocky Mountain Regional Forester. <br /> <br />1-41 <br />
