Question

Answer

Will turbidity be a problem in the Little Snake River?

- There would be some short-term increase in turbidity
during the construction period. With proper construc-
tion practices and enforcement of laws covering such
activities the increase would be minimal.

Sediment would tend to settle in the reservoirs, and
some reduction in sediment loading would be expected
after completion of the project.

2. Question - Will turbidity be changed in the Yampa River?

Answer

- No.

The Little Snake River downstream from the project area
now carries a heavy sediment load because it flows
through an area of high erosion in the 66,miles from
Baggs, Wyo, to its confluence with the Yampa, Any
increase or reduction in sediment load from the project
would have no significant influence in that part of the
river or in the Yampa River.
