,
'. '" .:;~

PLANNING

.,::'

,...;
C\!
C\l
.-I

Reformulation Capability

1, Question - Is constructing only Pot Hook Reservoir feasible?

~

Answer

- No.

A smaller Pot Hook Reservoir serving only supplemental
land would not be feasible.

It would be possible to construct a 105,000 acre-foot
reservoir at this location to serve all project lands
in Wyoming and Colorado. A long siphon across the Little
Snake River would be required, with a pumping plant to
lift water to the Dolan Mesa Canal, The net effect to
wildlife would be detrimental compared to the present plan,

2. Question - Is constructing only Sandstone Reservoir feasible?

Answer

- A minimum plan has been studied, with Sandstone Reservoir
reduced to 10,500 acre-feet and providing additional water
only to presently irrigated land that can be served from
Savery Creek or from the Little Snake River below Savery
Creek. Wildlife would not be affected greatly,

This plan would result in a less attractive and highly
fluctuating reservoir, little increase in recreational
opportunities, and reduction in fishing. Agricultural
benefits would not be realized on most project land in
Colorado,

3. Question - Is water for energy development included in the project
plan?

Answer

- No.

The project was authorized as an irrigation project,
Reservoirs have been sized to serve this purpose.
There would be no water available for municipal or
industrial purposes.
