III <br /> <br />PROJECT DEVELOPMENT <br />(Two Bar unit) <br /> <br />laterals would be provided to distribute the water supply from the <br />main canals to unit lands on both the north and south sides of the Y~a <br />River. Preliminary inspections indicate no major drainage problems ~uld <br />be encountered. <br /> <br />Design and construction <br /> <br />Savery Reservoir Enlargement <br /> <br />The capacity of Savery Reservoir would be enlarged by 5,100 acre-feet, <br />from 18.600 acre-feet planned for the Savery-Pot Hook project to 23,700 <br />acre-feet. The enlargement would be provided by increasing the height of <br />the dam 6 feet. to a total height of 86 feet. The outlet works and spill- <br />way would need to be enlarged slightly. The major cost item, however, <br />would be for the additional embankment in the dam which would be a rolled <br />earth-fill structure. <br /> <br />Two Bar Canal <br /> <br />The Two Bar Canal, diverting from the Little Snake River at an eleva- <br />tion of 5.840 feet. vould have an initial capacity of 45 Becond-feet and <br />a terminal capacity of 10 second-feet. It would be about 21.6 miles long <br />and would include 18.7 miles of unlined canal aIJd 2.9 miles' of bench flume, <br />concrete section, and concrete siphon. The diversion dBIIi would De an <br />overflow concrete weir structure. <br /> <br />Lily Canal <br /> <br />Lily Canal, diverting at an elevation of 5,680 feet, would have an <br />initial capacity of 18 second-feet and a terminal capacity of 5 second- <br />feet. It would be about 5.7 miles long and "ould include 5.) miles of <br />unlined canal and 0.4 mile of bench flume and concrete-lined sections.. <br />The diversion dam would be an overflow-type concrete weir structure. <br /> <br />Deerlodce Canal <br /> <br />The Deerlodge Canal would have an initial capacity of 2) second-feet <br />and a terminal capacity of 5 second-feet. It would be 7.7 miles in length. <br />Approximately 7.3 miles of the canal would be unlined and the remaining <br />0.4 mile would be concrete lined. <br /> <br />Cross Mountain Canal <br /> <br />The Cross Mountain Canal would have an initial capacity of 18 second- <br />feet and a terminal capacity of 10 second-feet. It would be 8.1 miles in <br />length and would include 7.8 miles of unlined section and 0.3 mile of <br />bench flume and concrete-lined sections. Only a headworks is planned for <br /> <br />~ <br />
