I The Central Arizona Project is well along in the construc-

tion stage.

I The. one other Federal project in the Lower Basin is the Salt

~iver Project which gets its water supply frOM the Salt and Verde

:rivers.

In the Upper Basin, the storage reservoirs completed are

Glen Canyon, just above Lee Ferry; Flaming Gorge on the Green

iver; Navajo, on the San Juan River; and the Curecanti unit

on the Gunnison River.

Except for t,vo, the initial participating projects of the

Colorado River Storage Project are completed or nearing comple-

tion. However, none of the five Upper Basin projects authorized

in ColOrado River Basin Project Act have been started. Other

Federal Projects in operation in the Upper Basih are: Weber

Basin, Weber River, Ogden River, Provo River, Strawberry Valley,

~e,'lton, I-lyrum and r-1oon Lake in Utah; Grande Valley, Umcompahgre,

Collbran, Mancos, Fruitgrowers, pine River, ~ryingpan Arkansas,
and Colorado-Big Thompson diversion project in Colorado. In

addition, numerous private irrigation projects are in operation in

the Upper Basin.
