Project land classification and drainage studies are essentially
complete, and the Final land classification and drainage review by Regional and Denver
personnel has been completed. The project lands and drainage appendix is being drafted
at the present ti me. Plan formulation studies are essentially complete wi th the recom-
mended plan consisting of an enlargement of the proposed Pot Hook Reservoir and realigning
the Pot Hook Canal at a higher elevation. Pot Hook Canal will also be extended to replace
the previously planned Westside Canal Extension, The Two Bar area will be eliminated
from the project plan because of poor soil quality and cost of facilities. Final project water
supply studies ore underway. Geological investigations of the canal locations are essen-
tially complete, and studies are now in progress to determine the need and type of canal
lining. All field surveys for project features are now complete. On-farm development
costs and farm-size studies are continuing. The definite plan report is scheduled to be com-
pleted in the fall of 1970.

SMAll RECLAMATION PROJECTS

The Overland Ditch and Reservoir Company, Hotchkiss, Colorado, has submitted
designs and estimates for the enlargement of Overland Reservoir under a Small Project loan.
Review of the designs and estimates has been completed, and our suggested design changes
are being made by the engineer representing the company. Fish and wildlife and recrea-
tion evaluations by cooperating Federal and State agencies are in progress,

The Farmers Water Development Company, Norwood, Colorado, has submitted a
draft of application report to enlarge the Gurley Reservoir, Regional Office personnel plan
to meet with company representatives in the very near future to discuss water supply deter-
minations, reservoir sizing, and designs and estimates.

6
