Above these benches, the shales and sandstones of the ) Carboniferous Red Beds are exposed, but the reservoir would not ex- tend above the level of the benches. (See reservoir map) The reservoir site was surveyed in "uly 1937 and mapped with a scale of 1 inch = 500 feet, and 10-foot contour interval (Drawings 254-D-73 (d) and (e). Detail topography of Lemon damsite was mapped in December 1937, with a scale of 1 inch = 50 feet, and 5-foot contour interval. The desired capacity of 23,000 acre feet is secured with a maximum depth of 142 feet. The area at flow line is 487 acres, of which 294 acres f,::'f':> .,':ti;~;~J are now cultivated.
