Included in this basin plan will also be the major tributaries such as Fountain Creek (Colorado Springs area), Huerfano River (Walsenburg area), and Purgatoire River (Trinidad area). (B) Areawide Plans (referred to as 208 type plans). The area- wide or regional plans will be developed for areas of urban and in- dustrial concentrations which pose serious pollution potential. Generally, the areawide plans will be limited to the Standard Metropolitan Stat- istical Areas as defined by the Bureau of Census. In Colorado there are three SMSA(s). These are the Denver Metropolitan area, the Colorado Springs area, and the Pueblo area. (C) Facilities Plans (referred to as 201 type plans). These plans are developed for individual sewage treatment facilities when proposals for enlargement, major renovation, or new facilities are submitted for approval. These plans will focus on the imm- ediate service area or areas adjacent to the proposed facilities. The 1972 amendments to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act provide for other special studies and plans which when completed will pro~ide special input to Basin and Areawide plans. These include level B plans cO'lered under Section 209 of the Federal P.ct which will be prepared and the Clean Lakes studies under section 314 of the 1972 amendments to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act.
