Included in <br /> <br />this basin plan will also be the major tributaries such as Fountain <br /> <br />Creek (Colorado Springs area), Huerfano River (Walsenburg area), and <br /> <br />Purgatoire River (Trinidad area). <br /> <br />(B) Areawide Plans (referred to as 208 type plans). The area- <br /> <br />wide or regional plans will be developed for areas of urban and in- <br /> <br /> <br />dustrial concentrations which pose serious pollution potential. Generally, <br /> <br />the areawide plans will be limited to the Standard Metropolitan Stat- <br />istical Areas as defined by the Bureau of Census. In Colorado there are <br />three SMSA(s). These are the Denver Metropolitan area, the Colorado <br /> <br />Springs area, and the Pueblo area. <br />(C) Facilities Plans (referred to as 201 type plans). These <br /> <br />plans are developed for individual sewage treatment facilities <br /> <br />when proposals for enlargement, major renovation, or new facilities <br /> <br />are submitted for approval. These plans will focus on the imm- <br /> <br />ediate service area or areas adjacent to the proposed facilities. <br /> <br />The 1972 amendments to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act <br /> <br />provide for other special studies and plans which when completed <br /> <br />will pro~ide special input to Basin and Areawide plans.
