<br />for January l, 1963, is the U. S. storage in Falcon Reservoir on that date; the
<br />
<br />monthly inflows are additional water entering the reservoir during the months of
<br />
<br />the year. The net acre-feet, column 3, is the total, in column 2, reduced by
<br />
<br />reserve of lO percent, 60,000 acre-feet domestic use, and evaporation. The evapo-
<br />
<br />ration was taken as 206,704 acre-feet, the difference between storage at beginning
<br />
<br />of year, plus inflow during year less diversions, and storage at end of year.
<br />
<br />It should be noted that the above scheme allotted all of the water in storage
<br />
<br />at the beginning of the year plus all of the inflow during the year, thus the
<br />.
<br />carry over storage at end of year would have been zero (if all irrigators used
<br />their fUll allotment). Had this scheme been in operation in 1962, doubtless the
<br />
<br />storage on January l, 1963, would have been less than shown in table and allot-
<br />
<br />ments for the year would have been reduced accordingly.
