<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In order to conduct the assessment and articulate the indispensable <br /> <br />state/regional viewpoint, $286,000, at least is needed. This <br />represents $86,000 more than is currently programmed by WRC for the Missouri <br />River Basin Region, The additional monies if approved by WRC, will be <br />from the assessment contingency fund currently being held in reserve by <br />WRC. Most of this $86,000 is programmed for the state agency participation <br />and will be utilized by the states to provide intrastate as well as inter- <br />state coordination and inputs relative to (1) state goals, objectives and <br />desires; (2) the preferred state and regional preference futures, (3) the <br />problems, problem areas, problem issues and opportunities within the Missouri <br />River Basin; (4) the effects associated with selecting each alternative future; <br />(5) the state/regional priorities, conclusions and recommendations; and (6) <br />the governmental and nongovernmental roles for meeting the future needs <br />within the Missouri River Basin. <br /> <br />The assessment, as expected, has been delayed about six months. Now <br /> <br />the completion date is December 1977. The Specific Problem Analysis portion <br /> <br />of the assessment, being conducted by the regional sponsors, is scheduled <br />for completion as follows: <br />. All the activities leading toward completion of the state/ <br />regional report will be completed by December 1976, and <br /> <br />1~46 <br /> <br />. The review and comment on the national report will be completed <br /> <br />by ~tober 1977. <br />The deadline for finalizing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is <br /> <br />February 1, 1975; however, we must have a WRS commitment on the available <br />funding as soon as possible so our total program can be finalized. Once <br />finalized, specific requests to each of the states and federal agencies <br />for inputs to the assessment will be made. <br />
