<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~~Jh ~~~~-7D <br />d <br /> <br />REPORT ON THE <br />1975 NATIONAL WATER ASSESSMENT <br />for the <br />MRBC Meeting on November 6, 1974 <br />in Omaha, Nebraska <br /> <br />The Commission staff and the Framework Update Committee have been <br />diligently working on the National Assessment the past two months. On <br /> <br />August 29, 1974, a copy of the Plan of Study'for the 1975 National <br /> <br />Assessment, prepared by WRC, was sent to each MRBC member and alternate <br /> <br />for review and comment. The commen~that we received were helpful. <br /> <br />On October 2-3, Jerry Zimmerman and I attended an Assessment workshop <br /> <br />in San Francisco sponsored by WRC for regional assessment study directors <br /> <br />in the western states. At this meeting most of the discussion focused on: <br /> <br /> <br />. The products from the nationwide analysis portion of the <br /> <br />assessment which is being conducted by the federal agencies <br /> <br />for the central case and the modified central case (both <br />cases are based on OBERS Series E projections) and <br />. The Memorandum of Agreement between WRC and the regional <br /> <br />sponsors for conducting the specific problem analysis portion <br /> <br />of the assessment which is to be conducted by the regional <br /> <br />sponsors and is desiqned to articulate from a state/reqional <br /> <br />viewpoint the problems, desires, and priorities associated with <br /> <br /> <br />water and related resources activities within each region, <br /> <br />WRC has listed several broad requirements that the regional sponsors <br /> <br />must follow in conducting the specific problem analysis, but generall~' <br /> <br />the individual region sponsors are given, flexibility to work out the details <br />and provide the products according to a nationally consistent format. <br /> <br />1448 <br />.. <br />
