MEMORANDUM

00[1343

f

/,/

,,}i ... 0
~ RECEIVE
0::. JAN 1119%
~\ CWCS

TO: Ray Tenney
FROM: Chuck Brendecke
SUBJECT: Progress Report for December - Elkhead Enlargement Study
DATE: January 10. 1994

Our December work effort was directed primarily at Tasks 4, 6, and 11, with lesser
amounts directed at Tasks I and 3.

Task 1 charges reflect ongoing project management efforts by both Hydrosphere and
Muller.

Task 3 charges reflect background data gathering to support other task efforts. Our
December work was mainly in the area of water quality data. ' '

Task 4 charges reflect ongoing work in the area of engineering investigations related to
the enlargement. Specific efforts described in Muller's December progress report included
hydrologic calculations for IOO-year flood and routing thereof, base mapping, data gathering,
and task documentation.

Task 6 charges reflect refinement of the contemplated draft and environmental baseline
model runs. These were distributed to the TSG just before Christmas.

Task 11 charges reflect office and field work associated with the preliminary diversion
structure evaluation. Field reconnaisance was conducted on December 6 and 7, This work is
now on hold due to ice on the river, though we should review the scope of work based on what
we know now of the potential obstructions.

I anticipate January efforts will be directed primarily at Tasks 3, 4, 6, and 8. Please feel
free to call if you have any questions or comments on our December work effort.

cc: Bob Norman
Bill Stanton

Hydrosphere Resource Consultants 1002 Walnut Suite 200 Boulder, Colorado 80302
(l'V'IIOJECT811n.OXl'\.IIOIJA~SSI.....nn.eo CRe...reD, J""''''.o."v to.
