The
average annual cost of operation and maintenance of the channel is esti-
mated to be $52,800 on the basis of proJected long-term prices. Payment
of the projeot costs over a 4.),:\,ear period wi tho'lt interest, therefore,
would involve a total annual charge of about $106,800.

Amortization of the construction costs (including interest on
those costs over the construction p",,'iod) wonld require $713,100 annually
over a 5C;.-year period uni r.g 2-"2./2 percent ir.terest. The direct, indirect, and public benefits
of use of the salvaged waters for irrigation would be about $8,69, and
$25.55, and $4006 per acre-foot annually, respectively, and total about
$938,000 annuallyo

Rev. 12-3-54

16
