~

.

.

~COLORADO WATER RESOURCES RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Response to TUDOR Proposal

TUDOR Proposal (Verbal)
In its initial proposal to CSU (Verbal) on January 19, 1982, TUDOR
proposed the use of MODSIM under its control with advisory assistance from
CSU. The following points were made by TUDOR, and CSU reactions are noted
parenthetica lly:
1. TUDOR has capability of operating model with its own personnel.
(CSU does not doubt this provided the model is properly modified
and calibrated, and TUDOR personnel properly trained for it.)
2. CSU will familiarize TUDOR personnel with the model and help in its
calibration. (CSU believes this is not feasible for reasons dis-
cussed below.)
3. CSU will turn over all relevant hydrologic data and analyses.
(CSU is willing to provide this material at the minor ~ost of its
reproduction or copy.)
4. CSU provide trouble-shooting and problem-solving assistance as
needed. (This will be feasible after model modification and cali-
bration. )
5. TUDOR proposes six man-weeks (240 hours) as needed, mainly in
orienting TUDOR personnel to the model and assisting in its cali-
bration. Most of this effort in February and March, 1982.

Status of MODSIM

Our proposal of October 5, 1981 to prospective contractors covers the
availability of MODSIM and hydrologic data under the condition that CSU
personnel perform the modifications and calibration which will be necessary
on MODSIM. The assistance of consultant in this work is suggested (Item
4, page 2, and continued guidance to contractor personnel in later phases of
testing alternatives is sUlllmarized (page 3 below Item 6).
