<br /> <br />19 <br /> <br /> <br />001513 <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL AND RECREATION TECHNICAL SUBCOMMITTEE <br />ANNUAL REPORT <br />July 1, 1974 - June 30, 1975 <br /> <br />The following meetings were held during FY 1975: <br /> <br />A task force met in Reno shortly after the Denver 74-2 l!\eeting to <br />consider the 1975 fiscal year work program recommendations, and resolve <br />differences between work itel!\s as originally approved by the two sub- <br />committees--now combined. <br /> <br />September 17, 18, 19, 1974 - Salt Lake City, Utah. The subcommittee <br />met to develop an approach to each work item, to assign chairmanships <br />and schedule work for rest of the fiscal year. <br /> <br />November 19, 1974 - Las Vegas, Nevada. Discussed revised approach to <br />recreation and environmental requirements for streamflow maintenance and <br />for identifying environmental, recreational and water quality implications <br />of energy development. The chairman appointed a member to represent the <br />subcommittee on the Water Management Task Force for weather modification. <br /> <br />March 5, 1975 - Salt Lake City, Utah. Work items discussed to date for <br />consideration as part of next year's work schedule. A field trip to <br />Utah Lake to view the management situation at the State Park. <br /> <br />June 8, 9, 10, 1975 - Eugene Oregon. Met with our counterparts from the <br />Pacific Northwest River Basin Commission. The purpose of the meeting <br />was threefold: <br /> <br />1. Maintain contacts established during recent years with those <br />in the Pacific Northwest working on similar problems and issues. <br /> <br />2. Become familiar with Oregon's "success story" in establishing, <br />cleaning up, and maintaining a public greenway along the <br />Wi1lamette River which runs through the most highly populated <br />areas of that State. . <br /> <br />3. Conduct individual subcommittee business and work sessions <br />needed by the two groups. <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />The statuses of the three work items for FY 1975 are as follows: <br /> <br />Work Item 1. Our members who also serve or act as staff support to the <br />Utah Colorado Oil Shale Environmental Advisory Panel are continuing <br />
