Nearby Denver is the headquarters for the Central

tain Region of Forest Service, and western area or regional head-

quarters for the Bureau of Land !>lanagement, the Geological Survey,

the Bureau of Reclamation, and the Fish and Wildlife Service, as

well as numerous state agencies concerned with the use and manage-

ment of water resourceso

Strong supporting departments in civil and irrigation engi-

neering, agronomy (soil science), geology, and botany, as well as

forest management and utilization, range management, and forest

recreation and wildlife management are available to us.~ Training

and research in water resources is not new to Colorado State

University. Its hydraulics laboratories and its work in irrigation

engineering are wEjoll known throughout the world.

The new program

in watershed management will add support to the University's

leadership in the water resources field. Such facilities as wind

tunnels, a low power nuclear reactor, and environment-controlled

growth chambers are or soon will be available for specialized

research.

Interest expr,essed in the program throughout the Uni,ted

States and from several foreign countries has been very encouraging.
