1385

Table 10 and Exhibit 3 show the anticipated operation of Ruedi Reservoir
during water year 1982.

.

C. Western Slope Collection System

In water year 1982 all 16 diversion points on the Western Slope Collection
System will be in operation. The bypass of 3,000 acre-feet of water
into the lbaring Fbrk River fran the Hunter Creek system will be set
again this year, unless the exchange with the Twin Lakes Reservoir and
canal Canpany can be initiated.. under the terms of the exchange the
water is to be delivered to the cx:mpany at Twin Lakes in exchange for
the o::npany making equivalent releases fran the headwaters of the }baring
Fbrk River which ~uld otherwise be diverted. through Twin Lakes Reservoir
and canal Canpany's collection and diversion system. If the exchange is
inplanented., it will essentially be operated according to Principle 11
of the Operatin:; Principles for the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project with only
minor Il'Odifications to obtain the best use of the water to enhance the
fishery of the Ibaring Fbrk River.

D. 'I'urqooise Lake

1. Inflow

Inflow to Turquoise Lake for water year 1982 will be from four sources:
Busk-Ivanh::le iIrq;Iorts, Fryingpan-Arkansas Project i.rrqlorts, Hanestake
Tunnel i.rrqlorts, and native flow of Lake Fork Creek. Estimates of inflow
fran Busk-Ivanh::le and native Lake Fbrk Creek were nade using historical
records and probability analysis. Hanestake Project plans to i.rrqlort
16,200 acre-feet of water raw stored in Hanestake Reservoir.

.

2. Minimum Release
The minimun release is 15 ft3/s, or natural inflow, whichever is less.

3. Reservoir (llerations

Planned operation of Turquoise Lake for water year 1982 was made assum-
ing ideal conditions and cx::mplying with as many requests, as possible, by
involved entities. In actual operation, circumstances nay require sore
variation fran the plan. .

The Hamestake Project plans to iIrq;Iort 16,200 acre-feet now stored in
Homestake Reservoir. The 8, 380 acre-feet i of Hanestake water stored in
'I'urqooise Lake (September 30, 1981) plus water year 1982 imports will be
released at the request of the Hanestake Project.

Pueblo Water Board owns one-half of the Busk-Ivanhoe i.rrqlorts and has
leased their half to Iligh Line Canal ~y. The Busk-Ivanhoe i.rrqlorts,
belonging to the High Line Canal canpany" will be stored in TurquOise
Lake under contract. Releases to the Iligh Line Canal Canpany are
patterned after previous years.

.

18
