;'"

130M't7

July 7, 1993

Gunnison Planning Model - Info Theme No.6

Information Related to Projects

(This category does not include the Uncompahgre Valley Project,
which has unique features, parameters and rules.)

A "project" is a relation between a single reservoir and a set of user-specified
demands, in which the reservoir serves as the first source of supplemental storage water
for the demands to satisfy shortages remaining after the allocation of water to direct-
flow rights. Information related to projects is itemized as follows:

1. Reservoir (Each project must have one and only one reservoir.)

Notes on the properties of reservoirs affecting their behavior in a
project:

a. The release of water from any reservoir
during the project deliveries step is
automatically constrained by the reservoir's
minimum and dead storage pools (if any)
and by the combined capacities of the
service and power outlets, less any
discharge through those outlets which
occurred during the water rights step.

b. The amounts of water available for release
from Taylor Park Reservoir and Ridgway
Reservoir during the project deliveries step
is further limited to the amount of water in
the project "account" of each reservoir.

c. The total annual amount of "project" water
which may be released from any reservoir
or received by any demand may be jurther
limited to a user-specified amount entered
in the dialog box for the specific reservoir
or demand.

2. Set of Demands A project must have at least one demand
associated with it in order to be included in the operations of the
project deliveries step. Only projects that are declared and have
one reservoir and at least one demand will be operated.

~'" <l, ,'" _'. .

.. - "u.
