<br />(a) Selected and arranged with the respective state representatives <br />for meeting sites for five A~ffiBIAC meetings. <br /> <br />(b) Planned and handled necessary negotiations to firm up the agenda <br />for four A~ffiBIAC meetings. <br /> <br />(c) Initiated two amendments to the Articles of Organization and <br />Procedure, which were approved by Al~BIAC. <br /> <br />(d) Ini tiated. reconunendations to Alo/RBIAC for the appointment of <br />ad hoc committees to investigate and report upon two of several specific <br />problems which the Administrative Committee felt remained unresolved in <br />the AlIR Basins Report. These committees and their activities are covered <br />in detail in Part E of this report. <br /> <br />(e) Ini tiated recommendation to AlffiBIAC for the appointment of an <br />ad hoc committee to investigate and recommend upon the preparation of an <br />official committee map or maps of the AWR Basins. This committee likewise <br />is treated in further detail in Part E. <br /> <br />(f) Appointed a subcommittee to draft a report of AWRBIAC activities <br />for the year 1955-56 in accordance with the amendment to the Articles <br />approved at the March AWRBIAC meeting. This subcommittee, composed of <br />H. S. Varner, Jr., Department of Interior, Chairmanj J. Roy Penix, Corps <br />of Engineersj and Carl E. Roberts, Federal Power Commission, has prepared <br />the subject report for submission by the Administrative Committee to <br />AWRBIAC for its consideration and adoption. <br /> <br />PART E. <br /> <br />AD HOC COMMITTEES <br /> <br />In lieu of other permanent committees, in addition. to the Administra- <br />tive Committee, the Articles provide that "Ad hoc committees shall be <br />appointed by the AlfRBIAC Chairman. . .to deal with special technical and <br />policy problems as they arise, and shall be dissolved by similar action.'" <br /> <br />In addition to the special subcommittee on organizational structure <br />appointed at the September meeting, three ad hoc committees have been <br />appointed and functioned during the year 1955-56. The membership of these <br />conunittees, their purpose and/or assignment, and a resume of progress, <br />findings, and/or reconunendations follow. <br /> <br />The Ad Hoc Committee on AWR Basins Map was appointed by the Chairman <br />at the Dallas, Texas, meeting on January 20, 1956. The conunittee consists <br />of the Department of Interior, ChairmanjHealth, Education and Welfare; <br />Corps of Engineersj and the States of Missouri and New Mexico.
