the United States a total of 97,300 acre-feet. The
annual average salinity of Colorado River treaty
deliveries to Mexico at the northerly Interna-
tional Boundary was less in the third year of
operation, than in the first two years. The aver-
age decreased from 1310 ppm in the year prior
to the agreement to 1190 ppm in the third year
of operation under Minute No. 218.
The daily average salinity of the Colorado
River treaty deliveries to Mexico at the north-
erly boundary varied from 790 ppm, to 1470
ppm, during the 1968 calendar year. The aver-
age salinity of the Wellton-Mohawk drainage
waters in 1968 was estimated at 4400 ppm,
Plate 12 shows the salinity and flow of the
Wellton-Mohawk drain, and of the Colorado
River at Imperial Dam and at the northerly
boundary with Mexico.
It is reported that Mexico's application for a
loan from the W orId Bank for rehabilitation of
the Mexicali Valley irrigation project has been
approved subject to the signing of contracts
with the farmers agreeing to the program and
the repayment of costs. Mexico is now engaged
in detailed planning and it is anticipated that
arrangements will be completed and that con-
struction will start in 1969.
