<br /> <br />In the Missouri River Basin a value of 002 was chosen for the <br />alluvial deposits of the Missouri River mainstem based on the <br />value shown on a map of specific yield by Bayne and Ward (1969). <br />A value of 001 was used for the alluvial deposits of the <br />tributaries to the Missouri River based on the same mapo <br /> <br />A value of 0015 was used for the alluvial deposits in the Neosho, <br />Verdigris and Walnut river basinS based on values used by Morton <br />and Fader (1975) and Fader and Morton (1975b and 1975a), <br />respectivelyo A value of 001 was used for the alluvial deposits <br />in the Marais des Cygnes River Basin based on the map of Bayne <br />and Ward (1969)0 <br /> <br />In the Solomon River Basin a value of 002 was used for the north <br />and south forks of the Solomon River and a value of 0015 was used <br />below their confluence, based on values shown on a map of <br />specific yield by Bayne and Ward (1969). . <br /> <br />In the Smoky Hill-Saline River Basin a value of 0.15 was chosen <br />for alluvial deposits of the mainstem streams based on a specific <br />yield map of Bayne and Ward (1969)0 A value of 001 was used for <br />the alluvial deposits of the tributaries to the Smoky Hill River <br />below the Solomon River based on the map of Bayne and Ward (1969) <br />and hydrologic jUdgment that tributaries should have lower <br />specific yields than the mainstem streamo <br /> <br />Except for the alluvial deposit in bheArkansas River Valley in <br />Hamilton and Kearny counties, a value of 0015 was chosen for the <br />alluvial deposits in the Cimarron and Upper and Lower Arkansas <br />river basins based on the values used by Bayne and Ward (1969) <br />and Fader and Morton (1975a), respectively. Values of 0015 and <br />002 were used for the alluvial deposits in the Arkansas River <br />Valley in Hamilton and Kearny counties based on values in Barker <br />and others (1983)0 <br /> <br />Glacial Aquifers <br /> <br />In the Kansas-Lower Republican River Basin a value of 0015 was <br />chosen for all glacial deposits, with the exception of those in <br />the Lower Republican River Basin, based on aqUifer tests reported <br />in Reed and Burnett (1985) 0 A value of 002 was chosen for the <br />glacial deposits of the Lower Republican River Basin based on the <br />value used by Fader (1968) and shown on a map of specific yield <br />by Bayne and Ward (1969)0 <br /> <br />High Plains Aquifer <br /> <br />Areas within the High Plains Aquifer were assigned specific yield <br />values of 0005, 0015 and 0.2 based on a map by Stullken and <br />others (1985) showing areas of three ranges of specific yield (0- <br />0.1, 001-0.2 and 002-0025) for the High Plains Aquifero <br /> <br />10 <br />
