A cascade
connection using eight 3~~,000 volt transformers from salvage stock
will deliver 100 kva at 2300 volts to the camp distributing system,
Completion of this novel installation was delayed by nonreceipt of
certain small items of equipment, but the transformers are expected
to be placed in operation early in 1947.
In the distribution ~ystem a new In-inch diameter pressure-break
valve was installed at the north portal of Hollywood tunnel and
preparations were made to install a motor.operated emergency slide
gate with automatic control at the south portal of the tunnel; new
pressure relief valves were installed in the Beverly ,Hills valve
structure; and a 12-inch connection was made on the Orange
County feeder south of ~anta Ana to provide service in all
emergency to Newport Heights Irrigation District, a constituent
of Coastal Municipal Water District.

r 62 1

J
