Conditions were found to be satisfactory throughout the <br />~ystem. <br />Sales of softened water to constituent areas increased over thc <br />previous fiscal year 52,6 per cent to 46,685.8 acre feet, I n addition <br />to this amount. softened water was supplied to the United States <br />for the Navy Hospital at Spadra, Delivery of softened water was <br />continuous during the fi,cal year to Anaheim, Beverly Hills, Coastal <br />Municipal Water District, Compton, Fullerton, Long Beach, Los <br />Angeles, Pasadena, Santa Ana, and Santa Monica. Burbank and <br />Torrance took water as necessary to meet their demands, Natural <br />Colorado River water was delivered continuously from Lake <br />Mathews to the Army for use at Camp Haan, <br /> <br />Additiunul service outlets <br />Four additional service connections were made to the water sys- <br />tems of District. constituents at their expense. A 20-inch connec- <br />tion was made to the Pasadena system near the easterly city <br />boundary at Sierra Madre Villa Avenue. A 16-inch connection <br />was marle to the Los Angeles ;;ystem at Cahuenga and Barham <br />Boulevards, Both of these connections were constructed by the <br />cities under supervision of District forces. A 12.inch connection <br />was made from the Torrance lateral in Crenshaw Boulevard for <br />the City of Torrance to serve the refinery of the General Petroleum <br />Corporation.
