Judge Stone eo::pressed a sincere hope that the Interior Department <br />Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 1950 ~nll provide $1,300,000 of special <br />funds and :3500,000 of CRD funds to supplel!lent a ohare of GI fund s to expedite <br />the investigations of projects for the use of tho waters of the Upper Colorado <br />River Basin. He urged each nember of the Committee and tho other representatives <br />of State interests present to oommunico.te with Senators and Congressmen from <br />Colorado regardinG the importance and necessity for adequate surveys and <br />investigations of the Upper Colorado River Basin, and that if the State of <br />Colorado is to preparo: adequately for the use of its share of these vmters and <br />to avoid, as far as possible, internal controversies which can have no other <br />effect but d~lay developnent, the legislators must be urged to support the <br />appropriation of adequo.te funds to the Bureau of Reolamation for the investi- <br />gation s, <br /> <br />S <br /> <br /> <br />15. He informed the Cornmittee of action taken by the Steering Cornmittee <br />at its meeting on Hay 24 in reoommendine; that priorities be assigned to the <br />use of Colorado's share of Fiscal Year 1950 funds for investigations in the <br />Colorado River Basin as follm'ro: <br /> <br />.~ i. <br /> <br />a.
