These laterals would have a
total length of 24.17 miles and would vary in capacity from 10 to 1
second-f'oot. They would consist of' 20.20 lllilesof' U11lib.ed section, 'a.84
llIiles of' earth-lined section, 0.89 1ll11e of concrete chutes, andO.l24 lIliJ.e
of siphons~

Drains

Shallow drains would be constructed in the bottoms ot: draws and
swales contiguous to the irrigable lands to prevent ponding of waste
water and seepage encllloachment on the slopes. It is estimted that
about 40 1ll11es ot: these draine would be required.

Construction Costs

Reconnaissance construction cost estimates of project features
based on January 1958 prices are tabulated on the Form PF-l on the
t:ollowing page", The total construction cost is estimated at $2,280,000.

Operation~ Maintenance, and Replacement Costs

Operation and lIlaint~nce of project works including supervision of
water distribution would be accomplished by a mnager-ditch rider who
would be the onJ.;y full-time ell\Ployee.
