<br />. <br /> <br />2371 <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />placement schedule for any reason excusable or not, <br />the Government reserves the right to adjust the starting <br />date of the above.stated lead time in a manner <br />commensurate with the contractor's delayed rate .of <br />progress. Should the contractor's rate of progress be <br />ahead of his placement schedule, the Government will <br />on timely request of the contractor. endeavor to <br />provide the necessary drawings in ample time to meet <br />the contractor's accelerated rate of progress, It shall be <br />expressly understood, however, that the Government's <br />obligations under this paragraph shall be based only on <br />the scheduled dates submitted by the contractor 120 <br />days in advance of his scheduled concrete placement. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />22. USE OF CONSTRUCTION <br />FACILITIES <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />It is possible that work at. or in the vicinity of, the <br />Pueblo damsite will be performed by the Governnnent <br />or by other contractors engaged in work for the <br />Government during the contract period. The <br />contractor shall, without charge, permit the <br />Government and such other contractors to use the <br />roads, bridges, lighting installation, and any other <br />facilities constructed or acquired by the contractor for <br />use in the performance of the work under these <br />specifications as are available without entailing any <br />material increase in -cost to the contractor for <br />maintenance or operation of such facilities. <br /> <br />23. STAKING OUT WORK <br /> <br />a. Lines and grades.-The contracting officer will <br />establish lines and grades required for proper <br />execution of the work. <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />The contractor shall, without additional cost to the <br />Government, give such assistance and provide such <br />drill holes, forms, ladders spikes nails, and light as <br />may be required by the contracting officer in <br />establishing lin.. and grad... The cOl\traC\or shall <br />adjust his construction operations at such points <br />and for such reasonable time as may be necessary to <br />assist with the work of transferring lines and <br />marking points for line and grade. <br /> <br />l> <br /> <br />The Government will provide onlv the minimum of <br />survey crew services essential to orderly <br />performance of the \Nark, and Government survey <br />creINS will not be available at all times for the work <br />under these specifications. The contractor shall keep <br />the contracting officer advised on a current basis of <br />construction survey requirements so that survey <br />work may be coordinated with the contractor's <br />sequence of operations. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Par. 21 <br /> <br />b. Replacement of survey stakes.-Where <br />construction operations require removal of the <br />Government's stakes or other survey marks, the <br />contractor shall reference such points in an <br />approved manner. Sllrvey stakes or marks <br />established by the Government shall be preserved by <br />the contractor unless he is authorized to remove <br />them, and in case of their destruction or removal by <br />the contractor's forces. they will be replaced by the <br />Government at the contra.ctor's expense. The actual <br />cost to the Government of replacing survey stakes <br />or marks will be deducted from payments due the <br />contractor. Such actual cost will include a <br />reasonable charge for use of Government supplies <br />and equipment plus 15 percent overhead as <br />provided elsewhere in these specifications. <br /> <br />24. INSPECTION AND TESTS <br />BY GOVERNMENT <br /> <br />In addition to tests specifically outlined in these <br />specifications, the Government reserves the right to <br />inspect and test materials, equipment, and <br />workmanship during the lite of the contract in <br />accordance with Clause No. 10 of the General <br />Provisions. The contractor shall cooperate with the <br />contracting officer in arrangements tor such <br />inspections and tests so that they may be made <br />without unnecessarily delaying the work or <br />endangering personnel. <br /> <br />25. BACK CHARGES TO CONTRACTOR <br /> <br />Where these specifications pro\lide tor changeos. to the <br />contractor for costs incurred by the Government for <br />services, materials, or use of equipment, such charges <br />will include the costs of labor and materials, a <br />reasonable allowance for use of plant and equipment, <br />and other expenditures which can be directly assigned <br />to the services or materials furnished, plus 15 percent <br />of such total costs for Government overhead. <br /> <br />In the event of termination of the contract for default <br />under Clause No. 5 of the General Provisions the <br />increased costs occasioned by the Government <br />thereunder shall include those administrative costs <br />which are necessary for and directly assignable to <br />completing the work following such termination and <br />which would not have been required had termination <br />not been necessary. In addition, the Government shall <br />be entitled to 15 percent of the total of such <br />administrative costs for Government overhead. <br /> <br />13 <br />
