<br />2375 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />subcontract hereunder which exceeds $100,000. <br /> <br />18. COMMENCEMENT, PROSECUTION, <br />AND COMPLETION OF WORK <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />a. Completion period.- The contractor shall begin <br />work within thirty (30) calendar days after date of <br />receipt of notice to proceed, and shall complete the <br />parts of the work as described below by the dates <br />specified or within the number of calendar days <br />stated below from the date of receipt of such <br />notice: Provided, That the period allowed for the <br />completion of Part (4) below shall be reduced by <br />one (1) calendar day for each calendar day in excess <br />of ten (10) calendar days. or any extension thereof. <br />elapsing between the contractor's receipt of and <br />return of properly executed contract, and <br />performance and payment bonds as required in the <br />Bid Form (Standard Form 21). <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Part (1 I.-Completion of the concrete plug <br />. ................... October 1,1971 <br /> <br />Part (4).-The remainder of the work. <br /> <br />660 days <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The data and drawings required to be submitted for <br />approval under these specifications are described in <br />Paragraphs 57, 115, 132, 137 and 141. The <br />contracting officer will require forty (40) calendar <br />days for approval of each submittal of data or <br />drawings to be submitted by the contractor or for <br />approval of each corrected resubmittal. If the <br />contracting officer uses time in excess of the <br />above-stated number of days to approve any <br />submittal, the excess time will be added to the time <br />allowed the contractor for completion of the work <br />alfected by such excess time: Provided, That if <br />approvals by the contracting officer of two or more <br />separate submittals or resubmittals are late and <br />result in concurrent days of excess time such days <br />will be counted only once in computing extension <br />of the completion date. The number of calendar <br />days required for approval of data or drawings will <br />include the date the data or drawings are received <br />by the contracting officer and will extend through <br /> <br />('. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Par. 17 <br /> <br />the date of return mailing to the contractor either <br />approved or for correction. <br /> <br />b. Prosecution of the work.-The capacity of the <br />contractor's construction plant, sequence of <br />operations, method of operation, and the forces <br />employed shall, at all times during the continuance <br />of the contract, be subject to the approval of the <br />contracting officer and shall be such as to insure the <br />completion of the work within the specified period <br />of time. <br /> <br />c. Priorities.-If performance under these <br />specifications is delayed by operations of any <br />United States national priorities or material <br />allocation system, the time for performance will be <br />extended to compensate for such delays. <br /> <br />19. L10UIDATED DAMAGES <br /> <br />In case of failure on the part of the contractor to <br />complete the work within the time fixed in the <br />contract or any extensions thereof, the contractor shall <br />pay to the Government as fixed, agreed and liquidated <br />damages, pursuant to the clause of this contract <br />entitled "Termination for Default-Damages for <br />Delay-Time Extensions," the following amounts per <br />day for each calendar day's delay in the completion of <br />the T~peet~~e parts of the work as subdi~ided in <br />Subparagraph 18a.: <br /> <br />Part (1).-Seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750). <br /> <br />Part (2).-Seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750). <br /> <br />Part (3).-Seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750). <br /> <br />Part (4l.-Five hundred dollars 1$500). <br /> <br />Provided that if liquidated damages are assessed on <br />more than one part at a time, the amount of liquidated <br />damages assessed will not exceed a total of one <br />thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) per day. <br /> <br />Also see Paragraph 20 for liquidated damage. to be <br />assessed for late submittal of construction program. <br /> <br />20. CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM <br /> <br />Within forty.five (451 calendar days after date of <br />receipt of notice of award of contract. the contractor <br />shall submit to the authorized representative of the <br />contracting officer for approval a complete and <br />practicable construction program.
