<br />COLORADO-BIG THOl1PSOH. PROJECT <br /> <br />Horsetooth Reservoir <br /> <br />Description: Horsetooth Reservoir with a capacity of 147,300 <br />acre-feet will be about six and one-half miles long ,and. about one- <br />fourth to three-fourths of a mile wide. The reservoir will be formed <br />by constructing the Horsetooth Dam and Satanka Dike at the north end <br />of the Basin and by constructing the Soldier Canyon, Dixon Canyon, <br />and Spring Canyon Dams across the three channels eroded' through the <br />east rim of the Basin. Physical characteristics are as follows: <br /> <br />Q.!!!!! Max. The <br />current value of the prime contracts for these dams are as follows: <br />Horsetooth and Soldier Canyon $5,617,180 and for Dixon Canyon and <br />Spring Canyon $4,446,227. <br /> <br />A graphic representation of the work performed in this area <br />during the year is shown on the opposite page as "ell as a chart <br />of the costs for the entire Colorado-Big Thompson Project.
