FRANCIS UNIT <br /> <br />Description: Bonny Dam, the principal feature of the St. Francis <br />Unit, will be located on the south fork of the Republican River, 27 <br />miles west of St. Francis, Kansas. It will be an oarthfill dam about <br />103 feet high with a crest length of 8,000 feet. The reservoir formed <br />by the dron will have a total capacity of 175,000 acre-feet. <br /> <br />The entire St. Francis Unit will cost $16,075,000, of which <br />$14,023,000 will be for construction of Bonny Dam. <br /> <br />Program FY49 <br />Funds Available - $2,159,657. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY49 <br />Costs to June 30, 1949 - $1,763,650. <br /> <br />The Government camp was to be <br />completed ffi1d construction <br />started on Bonny Dam. <br /> <br />The camp was completed. Bonny <br />Dam was 9 percent completed on <br />June 30. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />CEDAR BLUFF UN IT <br /> <br />Description: Cedar Bluff Dam is located on the Smoky Hill River, <br />approximately 5 miles south and 20 miles west of Hays, Kansas. The <br />dam will be a rolled earthfill structTIre, with a crest of 12,500 feet <br />and a maximum height of 136 feet. The reservoir created by the dam <br />will have a gross capacity of 352,200 acre-feet. <br /> <br />The Cedar Bluff Unit is estimated to cost 021,010,000, of which <br />$17,928,000 is for the dam. <br /> <br />Progr-am FY~2 -.- <br />Funds available - $2,392,521. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY4~ <br /> <br />Costs to June 30, 1949 - $1,530,523. <br /> <br />The Government camp was to be <br />completed and construction <br />started on Cedar Bluff Dam. <br /> <br />The camp was completed and the <br />dWl was 6 percent complete on <br />June 30. <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />16 <br />
