There are
(1) land treatment, and (2)

I

Land treatment measures will be applied on privately-owned
land by the landowners. Technical assistance will be provided
by the High Plains Soil Conservation District. These measures
when applied for and installed on the land are eligible for cost-
sharing under the Agricultural Conservation Program, The unit
costs used for these measures are based on current Agricultural
Conservation Program and Great Plains Conservation Program costs
established for this area,

I

I

I

Project installation costs for the structural measures for
floodwater-retarding structures include the following costs:

I

Public Law 566 costs.- The structural cost estimates are
made for construction of the three flcodwater-retarding structures.
The engineering estimate includes: clearing, site preparation,
construction of embankments, principal spillways, emergency
spillways, seeding and fencing of borrow areas, and the dam and
spillway areas. To estimate the construction cost of these
structures, 12 percent of the engineering estimate is added for
contingencies.

I

I

I
