The purpose of this study <br /> <br />was to attempt to determine the effect of stock ponds, if any. <br /> <br />upon the flows of the Arkansas River and its tributaries. <br /> <br />The Arkansas River Compact Administration has become con- <br /> <br />cerned with the possible effect of stock ponds. in Colorado, upon <br /> <br />the administration of the Arkansas River as provided for in the <br /> <br />Arkansas River compact. In view of the fact that the Colorado <br /> <br />Water Conservation Board had previously embarked upon such a <br /> <br />study, the Colorado member of the Engineering Committee of the <br /> <br />Arkansas River compact Administration was instructed to report <br /> <br />the findings of the above mentioned study to the Compact Adminis- <br /> <br />tration. The following report is in conformity with such instruc- <br /> <br />tions. <br /> <br />The procedure followed in conducting this study was: <br /> <br />(1) To examine the records of the State Engineer of the <br /> <br />State of Colorado and from these records to tabulate <br /> <br />the location by section, township, and range, as <br /> <br />contained in the filing, the date filed, the name <br />
