<br />Veto of MJnJgement Decisions by <br />Concurrent Resolutions of the <br />House .1nd Senate <br /> <br />Several types uf mc:lnagement <br />dt'risions mdJe by the Bureau must be <br />sent to Congress for revit'w and are <br />subject to "vetu" by concurrent reso- <br />lutions of the House and Senate. <br />Among them are: <br />Decisions elimindting one or more <br />prillt-iplt:' uses of l.mJ for two or mort" <br />years on tracts containing more than <br />100,000 aeres of pubbc land, (202) <br />Decisions tu sell tracts of public <br />l.md in excess of 2,500 acres. (203) <br />Withdrawals of tracts of public land <br />in l'Xl'{,SS uf 5,000 acrt's. (204) <br /> <br />Disposition of Public Land <br /> <br />The Ac.t prohibits the sale of public <br />1.ll1U to non-{:itllens or to corpora- <br />tions r\llt incorpllrated under State or <br />Federatl.nv. (207) <br /> <br />It provides authority for the St>C- <br />ret.uy of the Interior to insert terms <br />and conditions into patent to insure <br />the proper land use Jnd to protect the <br />public interest. The SecretJry is pro- <br />hibited from insl'rting terms and <br />conditions into I.,"d patents that <br />violate existing State and locall.1nd <br />use plans .1nd programs. (208) <br />It proVIdes for the reservation of <br />minerals to the UllIteu States in <br />public land sales, but allmvs for con- <br />veyance uf such rights in certain <br />specified situatIOns. (209) <br />It requires the Hureau to notify <br />St.1te and local governments of pend- <br />ing land sales in urder togive them an <br />oppnrtunity to lone or otherwise <br />regulate the use uf the land before tht' <br />s,lle, (210) <br />It authOrizes the Secretary of the <br />Interior to dIspose of certam omitted <br />lands without a sUfvey.
