In order to adapt those baseline data for
the purposes of this investigation, it will first be necessary to understand the assumptions
and modeling approach used in their derivation. This sub-task provides for a review of the
USFWS HYDROSS model and the assumptions used in development of the environmental
baseline flow data.

Approach

1) Existing documentation of the HYDROSS model and its application to the Yampa River
basin will be obtained from the USFWS and reviewed with particular attention given to which
water rights and projects have been included.

2) The consultants' technlcal staff will meet with USFWS staff who are familiar with the
HYDROSS model and its application to the Yampa River basin. This meeting will allow the
consultant to understand the important assumptions and methods used in the development
of the environmental baseline data set and to informally review with USFWS staff possible
modeling approaches for this investigation.

OutPut

No products will be transmitted to the TSC as a result of this sub-task. The consultant will
collect and develop additional background material regarding the HYDROSS model and its
application to the Yampa River basin.
