The number of sites to be examined in Sub-tasks 3b and 3c will be limited to twenty, in
addition to Ralph White and Elkhead Reservoirs. To meet this initial limitation, it will be
necessary to make a preliminary selection of sites from those which have been identified.
The site inventory will be limited according to the following criteria: for the short-term
reservoir, the primary criteria for inclusion in the inventory will be proximity to Craig. Unless
directed by the TSC, sites outside of a one-hour driving radius of Craig will not be
considered. For the long-term project, sItes will be eliminated which, in the judgment of the
study team, would be least effective in meeting the long-term water demands.

2) The known extent of occupied habitat for endangered fish species will be defined by the
USFWS. All sites within occupied habitat so defined by the USFWS at the time of this task will
be eliminated from further consideration.

3) Past studies of the basin have identified and examined a number of alternative sites for
new reservoir construction. Twenty-eight sites have been identified from a brief review of
readlly available documents. Additional studies and reservoir site proposals will be located
through discussIons with local water managers and members of the TSC.

4) The water uses included in the USFWS Environmental Baseline will be reviewed to
determine to what extent the baseline includes uses associated with undeveloped sites and
to whllt extent the baseline includes unexploited capacity at existing projects such as .
Stagecoach Reservoir.

Output

The output from this sub-task will include a map delineating the extent of occupied habitat
to be used in this investigation, a site inventory containing no more than twenty reservoir
sites in addition to Ralph White and Elkhead Reservoirs including a site location map and, for
each site in the Inventory, descriptive information which includes:

Location
USGS 1:24000 Map of the site
USGS Map of Watershed
Summary of known previous site investigations
