<br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />o <br /><:) <br />C) <br />,.;:.. <br />...... <br /><:.0 <br /> <br />o enhancement offlows; <br /> <br />o legal protection of water, including protection of reservoir storage releases, for the <br />benefit of the listedflSh to and through their habitat, as appropriate; <br /> <br />o operation or modification offederal projects to benefit listedfish; <br /> <br />o improvements to water quality in habitat areas used by listedfish; <br /> <br />o indications that listedflSh populations or habitats are improving; <br /> <br />o support and participation by the parties in developing and carrying out the <br />Program, including adequate funding; <br /> <br />o identification of flow needs for the listed fish; <br /> <br />o physical habitat enhancement (e.g., improvement of spawning and nursery habitats, <br />etc.); <br /> <br />o expansion of habitat through removal of barriers and construction of fish passage <br />facilities; <br /> <br />o control of exotic species; <br /> <br />o augmentation of listed fish populations; <br /> <br />o research and studies carried out in accordance with the Recovery Program; and <br /> <br />o support activities, such as information and education, etc. to the extent that they <br />help achieve goals of the program. <br /> <br />This list is not meant to be all-inclusive; nor is it meant to exclude any action from <br />consideration. <br /> <br />4. If the Service finds that RIP accomplishments are sufficient, biological opinions will <br />identify the activities and accomplishments of the RIP that support it serving as a reasonable <br />andprudentaliernativ~ <br /> <br />5. If the Service finds that accomplishments of the RIP are not sufficient at the time of the <br />consultation, biological opinions for new and historic projects will be written to identifY which <br />action(s) in the long range plan which must be completed to provide the reasonable and <br />prudent alternative. <br /> <br />A. For existing projects, these actions will serve as the reasonable and prudent <br />alternative if they are completed according to the schedule identified in the L.P.. as <br />amended. <br /> <br />4 <br />
