The neW location fringes the hills to the north of

the present road and maintains a minimum elevation of 6225 for

full protection against the 1925 flood. The new line passes through

a deep cut (maximum 100 feet) at the left abutment of the dam, and

thence back to the present highway below the dam. It is anticipated

that the large amount of excavation for the deep cut will be usable

in the downstream portion of the dam and for riprap. The est i-

mate includes items for surfacing and oiling of the relocated

.,-.

highway.

Water l\lains

Two city of Trinidad wood stave water mains pass through

the reservoir and dam. In preparation of the cost estimate it is

anticipated that these pipe lines will not require relocation

except vmere they pass through the dam. Replacement is being

made by the city of Trinidad with cast iron pipe as necessary.

The pipe lines will no doubt require complete replacement in the

near future and should this project proceed to construction such

replacement should coincide therewith.

Miscellaneous Items

A cost of $10,000 is estimated for relocation of 3 miles

'--

of 22,000 volt power line and the same length of telephoae lines.

I
